Treatment 02
Exosome Therapy
Cell-free signalling vesicles that carry repair instructions between cells.
How it works
Exosomes are tiny bubble-like packages (extracellular vesicles) that cells release to communicate. They carry proteins, growth factors and genetic messages (RNA) that can influence nearby cells.
Stem-cell-derived exosomes are studied as a "cell-free" way to deliver some of the same signals as stem cells — without living cells.
This is an early field. Products vary widely in quality worldwide, which is why we only use lab-characterised products from regulated manufacturing and are transparent that most human evidence is still preliminary.
How to prepare
- •Share your medical history and current medications.
- •Avoid NSAIDs for 5–7 days beforehand if your doctor agrees.
- •For skin or scalp treatments: stop retinoids and exfoliating acids 5 days before, and arrive without makeup.
- •Hydrate well and eat normally on the day.
On the day
- •IV infusion (about 45–60 minutes) or local application/injection depending on your plan.
- •Aesthetic applications are often combined with microneedling; numbing cream is applied first.
- •Short observation period before you leave.
Recovery & follow-up
- •Most people resume normal activities the same or next day.
- •After facial or scalp treatment: expect redness for 24–72 hours; avoid sun, sauna and heavy exercise for 48 hours.
- •Results, if any, typically develop over weeks to a few months.
Possible side effects
More common, usually mild
- •Temporary redness, swelling or tenderness at the treatment site
- •Mild fatigue or headache after infusion
- •Pinpoint bleeding or flaking after microneedling
Rare but important
- •Allergic reaction
- •Infection — the main risk with poorly-made products, which is why sourcing matters
- •Long-term effects in humans are not yet well characterised
Who may not be a candidate
- •Active cancer
- •Active infection
- •Pregnancy or breastfeeding
- •Active skin infection or eczema flare in the area (for aesthetic use)
